PADEL IN AFRICA Padel spreads across five continents but today in a very different way in each of them. The difficulties for the implementation of padel in Africa are not an impediment for different projects to go ahead. Behind them are proper names who dedicate their efforts daily in favor of our sport. We introduce you to some of them. Jordi Rovira introduced padel in  Senegal , overcoming difficulties but also enjoying the experience both in that country and in some others in Africa. Knowing other cultures, languages, religions… have been very rewarding experiences. Saly was the first town where padel courts were built and later a club was created in Dakar. People who play paddle tennis are both European visitors who are there for vacations or work and some Senegalese players. It was necessary to create an organization to direct the growth of padel in Africa. Padel on TV

Padel on the TV Padel is growing enormously in attention and popularity. That also ensures that it becomes very interesting for TV channels to broadcast padel. Ziggo (the largest cable operator in The Netherlands) has therefore bought the rights to broadcast tournaments of the 'World Padel Tour (WPT). They will be doing this for the next 3 years. The number of viewing figures detemine the success and whether padek will be broadcasted more often on TV. Padel on Ziggo As indicated above, Ziggo will broadcast the international tournament of the WPT for the next 3 years. The top matches of both men and women will be featured here, so we can also admire toppers such as Juan Lébron, Ale Galán and Alejandra Salazar on TV. Ziggo itself indicates that is has opted for this because of the rapid growth, but also because the sport is fast and has a high enternainment level.   Padel is a vibrant, social game filled with energy. The fastest growing racquet sport ever is currently dominating Europe and is now set to disrupt the UK sports industry. This fast growth is fuelled by the ease of play and accessibility, whilst being a doubles game makes padel a truly addictive social activity. The post-match socialising is likely to be just as enjoyable as the game itself. The rules Padel requires two teams of two players (doubles). The game begins by an underarm serve, diagonally into the opposite corner on the oppositions side. When the player takes a serve, the ball must bounce once on the floor then hit from below, or at, waist height. The aim is to score more points than the opposing team. Padel : 1 billion investment and boom in the number of clubs

Le padel records record European growth with a 181% increase in the number of clubs in five years. According to a study by  Monitor Deloitte , the world's leading professional services and consulting firm, in collaboration with   Playtomic , the leading racquet sports technology platform, the padel has experienced historic growth over the past five years, with a 181% increase in the number of clubs in Europe.  The study provides for investment in new courts of more than one billion euros over four years.  The creation of new courts in Europe has tripled since 2016 – reaching almost 27 – a figure which translates into an annual growth of more than 1000%. Forecasts, according to the report, indicate an increase in investments of up to 20 billion euros over the next four years. This growth is reflected in the opening of 98 courts and 29 clubs each week during the pandemic (2020-2021); 10 courts and 147 clubs in total.
